BIOGRAPHY
At the age of 7, Sarah was asked what instrument she might like to learn. Having heard her brother painstakingly learn the violin for the previous four years, Sarah knew that it had to be a saxophone.
Sarah has worked with a number of musicians as a guest. Most notably have been Bad Manners, Paulo Nutini, Fairport Convention, Van Tramp, Paul Mex (producer of Porcupine Tree) and Ron Trueman-Border, who was nominated for the People’s choice on the BBC Radio 2’s folk awards. The top online Tai Chi Company is currently selling Sarah’s solo soprano album “The Chillout Sessions” as an aid to Tai Chi practice.
Sarah also performs a solo act (with backing CD) of well-known Jazz Standards for Private Parties. Please see the solo sax page on this site for further details.
Sarah teaches saxophone, clarinet and singing from her home studio in Heathfield.
Sarah is renowned for her improvisational skills and is equally at home in an informal blues jam or a large stage setting.
In September 2008, 7 of Sarah's songs reached the finals and semi-finals of the UK Songwriting contest, narrowly missing the top spot but beating over 6000 other entries in their eventual positions.
Sarah is now in the process of working on her first album of her own songwriting tracks. This, much anticipated, album is due to be on iTunes and in the shops early in 2009.
